We love Siskel and Ebert's thumbs-up, thumbs-down rating style and alphabetized report cards, but ultimately decided on a 5-star rating system for deaffriendly.com.
It works like this: If the business you're reviewing is downright lacking deaf-friendliness, give it one star. Did a business go above and beyond your wildest expectations? Show your appreciation with a five-star rating.
If your experience was mostly neutral, two or three stars will suffice. And, don’t forget to add your comments! As a reviewer, ask yourself: “What are some clues that the business owner has put thought into deaf-friendliness?” Use your powers of observation to provide comments in addition to your star ratings. This winning combination is what helps create change and dialogue.
Last but not the least, reviewers are encouraged to use their best and fairest judgment
