We love Siskel and Ebert's thumbs-up, thumbs-down rating style and alphabetized report cards, but ultimately decided on a 5-star rating system for deaffriendly.com. It works like this: If reviewers feel they had a consumer experience that was severely lacking in deaf-friendliness, they assign a minimum of one star.

If your business went above and beyond their wildest expectations, expect to see a five-star rating. For more neutral experiences, two or three stars are common. All reviewers are required to provide comments explaining their star ranking choice, and encouraged to use their best and fairest judgment.
